Dragons Dogma

This game is Brilliant.

How would i Describe the Combat? Dark Souls Action RPG style, but faster paced, Lots of varied classes and Hybris. Like to be a standard sword and shield knight? Yep that class is there, its amazing, you can time your blocks right when an enemies attacks to deflect the damage and off balance them for critical strikes, have your mages cast Fire,Dark,Holy,Lightning,Ice onto your weapon to fuck shit up good, set enemies on fire, turn them to ice, shock them. Or just beat them to the ground, grapple them, kick them into fires, off cliffs, or hold them up while your party kicks shit out of them, great fun.

Like to cast amazing spells? You can, giant tornados, Walls of Fire, Or go Balrog style only with lightning and conjure a giant lightning whip, Roll Sorcerer for an even better array of spells to fuck shit up with.
Are you an Archer? Or like to play fast classes with daggers, yep you can, murder shit with flurries of kicks and dagger attacks, kick them in the air, throw gunpowder at them and ignite it and watch shit explode. Awesome fun.

Or do you like Hybrids? Bow-mage? Yep you can be one, launch awesome arrows that explode and shit like that, yep. Like to be a magical Knight? Yep roll Mystic Knight, these guys have hench shields you can cast magicks onto, or swing your mace like Sauron and watch shit get shockedwaved.

Oh did i forget to mention, you can change classes when you want to at an Inn, learn their abilities and use them on other classes to make an epic build to fuck shit up good.

Pawn System - This is great… You get to create your own Ally that comes with you around the world and helps you out, you can do all of the above to them, switch their classes, equip the, upgrade them, teach time how you want them to act, want then to go off and gather items while you kick the crap out of enemies? You can. Want them to protect you and make sure you dont die, you can tell them to do so. Want them to shut up? You can tell them to. Want them to heal the rest of the party. Tell them to. Want them to assist you by grappling/pinning foes down, You can.

Best of all, connect up online and other people can recruit your Pawn, they'll go off and adventuer with other people, learn mob tactics/locations/stratergies for quests and they'll drop you hints of what to do and how to act on certain enemies. They'll earn you items and Rift Crystals to spend on good shit. You can recruit upto 2 extra pawns yourrself, created by the dev team or others players, mix and match different classes for different straergies for different mobs, know your going to be fighting phantoms? Take a load of Archmages with you. Know your'll need crowd control? Take a load of Assasin/Striders.

Boss Monsters? Awesome. Shadow of the Colossus style, climb up them, attack weak points, cutt of tusks and eyes of Cyclops and Giants to get extra loot. Want a quick kill? Climb up its side and unbalance it near a cliff and they'll fall to their deaths. Climb up their backs and make them fall over. Chimeras? Crazy shit, Spell casting Goat "baaaaa"ing at you as it casts a fireball, Poison spitting snake tail with a leaping lions body, awesome shiz.

Massive open world, you have to walk everywhere thats the only con. Gathering spots everywhere, cut apples off trees, mine from nodes, gather from trees and bushes. Wandering quests, walking down an empty road? Wrong, pop goes a quest to save a random NPC from a horde of enemies, Or Ambushed by a cyclops/Chimera/Griffon/Dragon. The world has tons of life.

Quest boards, Pick up lots of quests off these bad boys, Escort quests are a pain in the ass, usually cause there is so many of them and they are all to far out of the way places, sometimes the same places. I had like 5 of them pop up all for Bloodwater Bay, but you can only take 1 at a time, massive time sink, annoying as fuck. Lots of good little quests though to fuck up bandits and the like in their castles and shit, or hunt certain enemies. The norm shit, just its great fun cause of the combat system. There are alot of varied proper quests with story to them as well, they lead you to all the nice specific areas in the game that oft you might overlook in other games.

Crafting system? It sort of has one, its Simplistic and Easy to do. Select Combine, Combine two items together to make another, Simple, Easy, Fun. Want to enhance your weapons and armor? You can, each piece has three stages of upgrades to do, each require different materials all increases your staus and resistances. Nice and simple, but effective.

Difficulty, Yeah its difficult to a point, it isnt Dark Souls Difficult where you die every 5seconds, but its got that nice degree of difficulty that everyone should like. The game is long too, i've been doing everything i can befoe progressing the story, its long, i've been doing this for 4days now and im not even close to the end.

–-Unfortunately though, Enemies do not scale with levels. Now do they in new game plus. Lots of cplaints about that, so it may get added as a DLC. Hope so, i'll play this game for ages–-

Endgame - Theres lots of shit to do post game, including an endgame dungeon with a super boss at the end, but this super boss is different, it can be defeated offline for loot, Or it can be defeated online in a competition against other players for even greater loot, kill times are recorded as well, the player who deals the killing blow will received the greatest rewards, all othe rpeople taking part will also receive decent rewards too.

Like i said, This game is brilliant.
