I had enough resources that I was given all 3 choices, control reapers, destroy reapers, or join organic and synthetic to create a new form of life. Because I had lotsa War Assets, every choice still allowed me to save Earth and the crew. I chose to Destroy. Here is the problem.
In choosing to destroy the reapers, you also blew up all the prothean tech, including the Mass Relays! I figured w/e not a big deal, in another 50k years civilization will learn how to do it again and at least they wont have to worry about every advanced species being eaten by reapers. HOWEVER
There was a DLC called Pinnacle Station, and it explained that blowing up a Mass Relay causes a super mega ultra uber-nova that will wipe out its entire surrounding solar system. Maybe even the whole galaxy, either way its a big boom.
So by saving the galaxy from the reapers, I have actually caused more damage than they ever intended to! Oh but wait, It shows us all getting out of our ship on an inhabitable planet, and earth is allegedly saved?
If they could just resolve the whole Mass Relay explosion paradox, I would be perfectly happy with the ending. The end.
And the explosion isnt the same as the one in that, its more of a force that either wipes out all synthetic life, merges all life or lets all life survive but shepard control reapers, thats how i perceived it anyway.
Well that makes things better, that its some kind of "Energy Wave" ala Spirits Within instead of a galxy destroying uber nova.
Either way, this was one of (if not THE) best trilogys with the best storylines of all time. After all the great moments of these games who really even cares about the ending?
Dude, Reaper vs Thresher Maw on Tuchanka was SO EPIC.
